Travel: Salt Lake City, USA #2

In the end of September I received a memory photo on my phone – the memory was from 5 years ago when I last visited the USA (have been a few times in total). It was a very special occasion – my dear friend was getting married and I was invited to be a bridesmaid. We’ve met during our university years in Denmark and I remember how I half joking, half serious told her that once she’ll be getting married, I’ll come to see her. Many months forward, I was about to go to sleep, and suddenly I received a message on my phone – it was a picture of my friend being engaged – believe me, I jumped out of my bed and told myself: Loreta, everything is possible!

I was fortunate enough to be able to afford such a holiday, so I planned everything out and there I was – flying over California to Los Angeles, and from there to Salt Lake City. I was ecstatic, to say the least! My two weeks of holidays! And yes, I’m thrilled even today, because I believe that if there is one thing that teaches a lot about the world, people, cultures – it’s travelling. As I haven’t gotten the chance to fly this year (and I absolutely love flying), I thought I’ll share with you some highlights from the trip. I hope I’ll make you smile and you’ll remember the trip that made you feel excited and grateful.

First and foremost, let’s take a moment to admire the nature of the region – absolutely breathtaking! All two weeks I was in awe! Every time when we casually got out of the car to go somewhere, I got goosebumps thinking that people living there get to enjoy these views every single day. It was also the first time I felt how when we were very high up the mountains, it would get very warm during the day, but then it would get cold to the extent that you need a proper jacket in the evening. I believe pictures speak for themselves:

This was not on my list, but I’m definitely happy that I’ve had a chance to have a delicious breakfast with my friend at a stunning Waldorf Astoria Hotel, we were invited by my friend’s husband who works in the hotel. After breakfast, we walked around the hotel which is absolutely beautiful. It was beautiful in autumn and I believe it’s magical in winter.

We’ve also spent some time visiting the city itself. I haven’t taken many photos, I guess, I forgot about it being busy talking to my friend, however, I managed to take a few (hehe). What I actually like from the city photos is the photo of me below, somehow I feel that I look so relaxed, calm and happy.

So those were a few highlights from the trip! I smiled the whole time while going through the photos and sharing the memories. I also realise that I miss my friend, and we were thinking that we could meet somewhere in Europe this year, but as that will not happen, we shall wait and hopefully, I will visit the USA again soon! Have a great week everyone!

With love, Loreta
